Op-Ed: Impeaching Trump will be a slippery slope towards accountability

The sham impeachment trial of the TRUE winner of the 2020 election.

Look, like all Americans, I completely and totally condemn the attack on the Capitol on January 6th. Even though it was mostly peaceful. And the election was stolen. And these people were patriots. But also maybe ANTIFA. Like I’ve said, I have no love for them whatsoever.

But Democrats in the Senate are on a suicide mission that will only end in catastrophe. By trying to convict President Trump for his supposed “role” in trying to “overturn the election, “ they set a dangerous precedent of cause and effect. If Donald Trump is successfully impeached, we’ll go down a slippery slope where elected officials will be held accountable for their actions.

I mean give me a break! If we hold this president accountable for violating his oath of office and abusing power, what’s next, holding future presidents accountable when they do the same? This will put us down the path to anarchy. If the founding fathers wanted impeachment to occur for high crimes and misdemeanors, they would have written it down in a foundational document. A constitution of sorts.

None of this is fair at all! Trump gave a perfect speech, but Dems want to cancel him and stifle his free speech. Look at all the things Trump said before the attack that loony liberals are saying “incited violence.”

“If you don’t fight like hell, you’re not going to have a country anymore.” I mean this is easy. When Trump said you won’t have a country anymore, he was talking about No Country for Old Men. He thought it was a documentary, and was just voicing his concern about the situation of men over the age of 65.  It's an easy mistake!

“You’ll never take back our country with weakness.” This is actually a misquote. Trump actually said “you’ll never take back our court with a weak press.” He was clearly talking about the Washington Wizards, who lost a tight game that day to the 76ers with a weak, half court press. “Everyone knows you gotta do a full court press, get that weak shit outta here!” said Trump.

“Big protest in D.C. on January 6th. Be there, will be wild!” I mean now you guys are just being intentionally obtuse. Had you actually watched Trump’s speech in its entirety, you’d have heard him delivering a moving oration of the children’s book “Where the Wild Things are.” And of course everyone knows the wild things do actually reside at the Capitol, where the Democrats drink child blood and pray to Moloch.

Like I said, a perfect speech. This impeachment trial is a sham. If the radical marxists continue, they risk creating a brave new world where the things you say or do can, in fact, have consequence. It's a slippery slope when political actors are held responsible for their actions.
